Creating Value-Based Health Care
Within the research line Creating Value-Based Healthcare (VHC) we focus on the organization, economics, policy and governance of health care innovation in the whole continuum of care from a regional, national and international perspective.
Research and impact
The research line Creating Value-Based Health Care provides high-quality multidisciplinary research and teaching focusing on innovations in health services; its goal is to improve the quality of life of citizens and patients, as well as the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of health care. We aim to achieve this by studying interventions in an innovative way addressing the broad spectrum from prevention to palliative care.

Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Online Course
To improve the awareness and understanding of health economic related topics, this self-learning HTA course offers several pre-recorded video lectures, which provide a comprehensive overview of various topics in the HTA field. Thereby, the course will mainly focus on economic evaluations and their methods used to assess the cost-effectiveness of an intervention.

NEW: MaastrichtHETA
MaastrichtHETA develops and disseminates innovative methodology and knowledge for advancing, promoting and teaching best practices in health economics and health technology assessment. MaastrichtHETA unites academics from Maastricht University (UM) and Maastricht University Medical Center (Maastricht UMC+).

King visits Blue Care pioneer site in Maastricht
King Willem-Alexander and Minister Bruins for Medical Care and Sport made an unexpected visit to the initiatives of the Blue Care pioneer site in Maastricht on 4 September 2019. The focus was on 'the right care in the right place'.

Mongolian Public Health
The Mongolian National University of Medical Science and its School of Public Health hosted an Open Medical Institute Visiting Professorship of dr. Kasia Czabanowska. 400 PH professionals participated in her lectures.

Blokhuis visits Healthy Pimary School of the Future
The initiators of the project Healthy Primary School of the Future believe that the project deserves to be replicated nationally, given the positive impact on children, parents and schools.
