Target group
Individuals with a diploma ‘coordinating radiation protection expert’, whether or not registered with the Authority of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) as (general) coordinating expert.

Study goals
The refresher course strives for:

  1. securing knowledge, competencies and skills in the field of radiation protection, meeting the requirements of the educational level for (general) coordinating expert;
  2. broadening knowledge with regards to the applications of sources of ionizing radiation;
  3. becoming acquainted with developments in legislation as well as the underlying scientific insights in the field of radiation protection;
  4. exchanging knowledge and experience within the own occupational field, and optimizing the organization of radiation protection.

Participation
Individuals in the occupation of (general) coordinating expert, must register with the government. This refresher course aims to offer activities that are an expansion of, or addition to, the educational programs or meetings that are offered by different institutions nationwide. However, our program is directly and specifically aimed at the daily practices within the institutions that participate in the complex license Randwyck. Certain parts of this program may render points for registering with the government.

Content and language
Whenever possible, the language of communication will be Dutch. The program offers face-to face education, where the preferred method is a mix of a formal lecture and a tutorial. In case materials are needed, they will be provided by the organizer.

Organisation
The refresher program is organized by the radiation protection unit Randwyck. The responsible educational officer oversees the quality of the program, together with the Exam Committee Radiation Protection Education Randwyck. Certain parts of the program will be presented to ANVS for accreditation. The mode of operation has been formalized in a procedure and regulations.

Individuals within the complex license Randwyck that are eligible for participation, will be approached by the radiation protection unit. Meetings are planned by mutual agreement. Third parties that are interested in participation may contact us for more information.

Cost for participation
For employees of UM, MUMC+, Maastro, Maastro Proton Therapy B.V. and Brightlands Incubators Maastricht B.V., participation is free of charge. For third parties with interest in participation, a fee applies; please contact us for more information.
