In addition to standard master's programmes, Maastricht University offers a number of programmes for professionals. These range from Executive MBAs to training in the health professions. Most applicants are seeking post-graduate studies or have been active in the labour market for a substantial period of time. The majority of the programmes are part-time, allowing students to maintain their career while furthering their education.

The Advanced Master’s in Intellectual Property Law focuses on the legal dimensions of intellectual property, patent rights and industrial technology. You'll build the legal foundation and practical and technical skills to advance your career as a legal practitioner, European patent agent or manager in a knowledge-intensive industry.
This research master’s is a joint degree programme of Maastricht University and the University of Florence. It’s for graduates in medicine, psychology or behavioural sciences and focuses on the latest developments in the areas of anxiety, depression and the neuroscience of emotions. You’ll learn how to make your own contributions to the latest research on the mechanisms of emotions.
Epidemiology is absolutely fundamental for maintaining and improving public health. It is a fascinating field that utilises statistics, tracking methods and problem solving to study the origin and causes of diseases, and the effect of clinical interventions in a community. In the master's programme in Epidemiology you will study epidemiology in all of its different facets: calculating disease trends and probabilities, communicating findings to the public and policy makers, and designing and implementing interventions based on data. On completion of this master's, you are eligible for registration as a certified Epidemiologist A (Dutch registration system).
The EuroMBA combines 10 online courses in management with 6 weeks of residential teaching. You’ll have the flexibility to work where and when you want, allowing you to combine studying with a busy work schedule. This question is the starting point for the master’s in Evidence-Based Innovation in Teaching (MEBIT).

This two-year, part-time programme for professionals offers you the tools and insights for making your organisation and its information systems highly flexible. It provides professional insights into the enterprise IT architecture, links with business strategy and the management of IT governance, leadership and change. The programme is offered in cooperation between Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics and Antwerp Management School.
The master’s programme in IT Governance and Assurance will provide you with the know-how to turn IT innovations into business value and to effectively manage IT-related business risks. You’ll learn how to develop and evaluate health education and promotion initiatives and you’ll develop communication strategies to disseminate these programmes to various audiences.

This executive programme is offered by Maastricht University, VU Amsterdam and the University of Florida. It includes six two-week seminars and distance learning activities that cover issues such as internal control, information systems, auditing and assurance. You’ll develop professional skills by critically analysing and solving real-life cases. You can also select a module that helps you prepare for licensing in the Netherlands, the UK or the US.
The international Executive Master's programme of Finance and Control (iEMFC) is for working professionals who have a master’s-level background in finance, accounting or information management. The programme takes two and a half years on a part-time basis and is taught in English. You’ll have a total of six, two-week seminars, taught in Maastricht, Boston and Shanghai.
The master’s in Mental Health combines theory of psychiatric disorders with a large amount of practical training. You can do a clinical internship at a mental healthcare institute or take supplementary master classes. After you’ve obtained your degree, you can continue on to a post-doctoral training programme and become a mental health psychologist or a psychotherapist. But you’ll also get all the training you need to become a PhD candidate. Other career paths include positions as a therapist, diagnostician, consultant or advisor in (special) education or working with the mentally disabled.
