Aims and Scope
The Maastricht Journal is devoted to the study of European and comparative law broadly understood. The European legal space includes, among other things, European Union law, the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), and shared legal principles across jurisdictions. Comparative law, in turn, discusses how legal systems relate to, diverge from, and influence each other. The journal is interested in comparative scholarship that includes in its examination any form of European law or the laws of the European states.
The Editorial Committee and Advisory Board consist of specialists in all major areas of law. They guarantee a regular coverage of the following fields:
- European public law
- European private law
- European company and labour law
- Human rights and international law
- European criminal law
- European Union law
- Legal theory and European integration
- European environmental law
