Report after report indicates that we are simply not training enough data scientists to meet world demand. Within Maastricht University there are already numerous programmes and courses in the field of data science. The goal is to promote and strenghten these programmes to attract more students interested in a career in data science and provide them with high quality education.

Data Science education at UM
The Artificial Intelligence Master’s programme focuses on the development and application of computer systems that simulate human intelligence, learning, reasoning and collaboration. These systems are used to solve challenging problems in today's world.
Business Intelligence and Smart Services
The big data revolution is having an enormous impact on society as a whole, as well as on organisations and individuals. Business intelligence specialists have therefore become an essential asset to any company and any public institution.
Data Science and Knowledge Engineering
In this bachelor's programme students learn to develop user-friendly software and intelligent systems for -among others- healthcare, IT, robotics and commercial gaming.

KE@Work (Honours Programme)
Starting from their second year of study, talented and motivated bachelor's students from the Knowledge Engineering programme work at (international) companies in the region. During this two-year work/study track, students tackle challenging assignments in the area of scientific programming and modelling.
