Universally agreed upon language on issues relating to racism is nonexistent. Even the most frequently used words in any discussion on race can easily cause confusion, which leads to controversy and hostility. It is essential to achieve some degree of shared understanding, particularly when using the most common terms. This glossary provides definitions of commonly used words in discussions about race.

Met deze incomplete stijlgids laat WOMEN Inc. zien hoe (beeld)taal gendergelijkwaardig en inclusief kan zijn. Het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat dit een ‘levend document’ is dat continu aan verandering onderhevig is. Medewerkers en gebruikers worden niet geacht de stijlgids als een wetboek te volgen, maar deze eerder als wegwijzer te gebruiken om op een biasbewuste manier te communiceren.
