Central Culture Faciltities
The central culture facilities provide researchers with the opportunity to safely conduct work with cells and bacteria in compliance with legal regulations, up to biological safety level ML-II. For this purpose, the FHML offers the following central research facilities:
ML-I Bacteria Lab
The ML-I Bacterial Culture Lab is part of the Central Research Facilities and provides researchers with the opportunity to work with bacteria at the ML-I level. Researchers can freely use the ML-I bacterial culture facility at a fixed hourly rate. Users can reserve workspaces through the online registration system, AgendaLabs FHML. Standard consumables such as pipette tips, disinfectants, tubes, etc., are provided by the COV.

ML-II Bacteria Lab
The ML-II Bacterial Culture Lab is part of the Central Research Facilities and provides researchers with the opportunity to work with cells in combination with bacteria at the ML-II level. Researchers can freely use the ML-II bacterial culture facility at a fixed hourly rate. Users can reserve workspaces via the online registration system, AgendaLabs FHML. Standard consumables such as pipette tips, disinfectants, tubes, etc., are provided by the COV.

Costs
When using the central culture facilities, basic consumables are charged to the user. These costs are based on the hours worked and the annually determined prices for consumables. These costs only cover basic consumables such as ethanol, pipette tips, gloves, etc.
Cell culture-specific consumables such as plates, bottles, media, buffers, etc., must be provided by the users themselves. Additionally, the maintenance of laboratories, the purchase and maintenance of basic equipment, actions related to biological safety, and other unforeseen costs will not be passed on to the user.
