A-level teaching roles
Introductory course on the principles of PBL
All academic staff members (from PhD candidates to full professors) are required to start with the Introductory course on the principles of PBL. This course is open to staff with all levels of experience, with and without educational roles.
Trainings for teaching roles at the A level
After the PBL principles course, staff members with new educational roles need to enroll in one or more of the following courses:
- The small-group teacher training, formerly known as "tutor training," focuses on guiding small-group learning sessions, for example, as a tutor, coach, or trainer.
- The mentoring skills training focuses on guiding and coaching individual students.
- The CORE training prepares for the role of CORE teacher in the Medicine curriculum.
- The learning team coach (leerteamcoach) training prepares for this specific role in the Medicine curriculum.
During all these trainings, participants are required to actually perform the corresponding teaching role in practice.
