The taskforce Faculty Development has a broad offer which is set up according to the latest insights in faculty development; we work just in time, workplace oriented, and self-directed. Creating professional learning communities around workplace learning is the cornerstone of the current mission and vision of the taskforce Faculty Development.
Most courses organised by the taskforce already focus on a specific educational role: participants are challenged to focus on their daily practice when working in a particular educational role (e.g., mentor, tutor, coach, course coordinator). The taskforce intends to teach staff members parallel to the educational roles they actually perform. This approach is based on the assumption that professional development only makes sense if it allows participants to come to grip with real concerns and needs in their day-to-day practice.
