Print

Maastricht University put out a printing tender in accordance with European legislation. A tender was submitted for two different packages, namely:

Standard printing

This includes business cards, envelopes, folders, and compliment and correspondence cards. Andi Smart Print Solutions, a company based at Maastricht Airport in Beek, was contracted to handle our standard printing needs. All standard print jobs, with the exception of business cards, can be sent to Andi Smart Print Solutions' ordering portal. Username: medewerker, password: um.

Special printing

Special prints include brochures, posters, flyers, cards, invitations, annual reports, folders, etc. A variety of options are available for printing these types of products.
Two suppliers have been selected for special print jobs: Andi Smart Print Solutions and de Bondt Grafimedia Communicatie (Barendrecht).

You can order special prints in three ways:
1. Through the publishing platform. You will need to request an account via: support-platform@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
2. Directly through one of the two suppliers (if you have access to print-ready files).
3. Through a preferred supplier (design agency). In this case, the design agency is the primary contractor and is not required to submit the document to one of the two contracted suppliers.

Please note: According to the tender regulations, you must request a quote from all two suppliers for orders that exceed 5000 euros. You can then choose one of the two suppliers.

Print jobs

UM printing services are managed by ICTS and supplied by Canon. For more information, please go to the My Print page.

Design and layout

Design and layout work does not fall under the printing tender. Please contact one of the preferred suppliers to discuss the options.

Media strategy, purchasing and planning

The ministry of General Affairs has issued a European tender for the procurement of media strategy, purchasing and planning. A joint action by all Dutch ministries, almost all government institutions are participating in this tender, which can be applied on a large scale. An example includes the discounts offered by media purchasing (Telegraaf, Persgroep, NRC etc.) by an average of 23%. Universities are also participating.

The tender was won by Initiative Media, a media agency that gives advice on all aspects of marketing and communications. The contract runs from 2021 to 2026.

Maastricht University has decided to join in carrying out this tender. This means that the parties involved are obliged by the government to enable the media strategy and planning from Initiative Media. This is a difference from previous contracts, which were only media purchasing, while this new contract includes mechanisms for media strategy and planning, an essential difference.

Outside of the scope of this tender are services that we conduct in-house and the creation and production of materials.

The main contact for UM is the DPC (Department of Public and Communication) Service Centre, as many self-placements are made from UM. For self-placements, the e-mail addresses and contacts below can be contacted.

Disclaimer

The copyright for text, design, photographs and logos on this website rests with Maastricht University. The corporate identity and the content of this website may not be used by third parties without prior consent.

The publishing platform (Cordeo) is an application which allows users to create, manage and (re)order communication media through their internet browser. The publishing platform works according to the publish on demand model. It allows users to work in a fast and flexible manner, not depending on design agencies.

Request account and contact

Request a publishing platform account via support-platform@maastrichtuniversity.nl

You'll receive two emails from no-reply@cordeo.com: a confirmation email and an email with your login details. You can then choose your password. Each account has certain user rights determined by what you need to do in the platform (Library, Studio, Webshop or all three).

Users training courses

Before you start working in the platform, it is important that you do a training course on a specific topic.

There is a training course and user guide for each website section. Click here to register for a training.

Costs

The platform saves costs by:

  • not having to pay for an external designer
  • saving at least 20% on printing costs by having a set network of suppliers on the platform
  • small orders: thanks to the print on demand model, there is no need to have large quantities in stock

Publishing documents via the platform is free, though you pay for printing. These costs are displayed before you complete your order.

The following rules and procedures apply to any external party that builds apps for Maastricht University (UM). All UM apps are published on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Before any app is published, UM performs a quality check.

Code of conduct

To comply with our code of conduct, please contact the Information Manager or Privacy Officer from your department or unit about the registration of personal data and the guidelines that apply in this matter, like the signing of a Data Processing Agreement and other documents. Also see the UM privacy page and information on cyber security.

Technical support

The UM Digital Innovations team has in-house developers, designers and content creators. If necessary, we can give you technical support while you are developing the app. To do so, we need the following (upon request or upfront, depending on the nature of the app):

  • Up-to-date source code with in-code documentation on a private GitHub repository
  • Details about the backend, hosting provider and contractual terms
  • In case of Software as a Service, specified delegated access and/or full access
  • Guarantees that the backend complies with legal requirements
  • Test and performance reports, depending on the app and backend service

General work agreement

Working with UM means you accept the following terms and conditions or practices:

  • We sign, compile and publish the app. We don't accept signed and compiled files sent by the developer.
  • You will commit to a Service Level Agreement in which we agree on updates, bug fixes, using persona's or cases, project description, among others.
  • We will also create a custom agreement in which we state what each party does and if expected to do.
  • To limit the time and cost of code views, we currently only support hybrid apps that use a certain framework (in our case Ionic).
  • The Digital Innovations team will be in touch with other developers and companies to maintain a realistic price and perform quality control checks.

Design and content

Your design must fit the UM house style.

If you have any questions about the UM house style, please contact Mariken van Meteren at m.vanmeteren@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
