Publications
If there is a single, central activity that typifies METRO, it is the institute's capacity for groundbreaking research publications. METRO publishes, maintains, collaborates on, and produces analyses of, a large volume of academic publications, from the institute's own books, papers, reports, and theses to the Ius Commune Casebooks, the Ius Commune Europaeum Books, the Maastricht Journal and UM's Dovenschmidt Quarterly.

Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law
METRO publishes The Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law. The Journal provides literature enabling both the European professional and academic lawyer to grapple with the special difficulties presented by the concept of Ius Commune Europaeum. The Maastricht Journal gives a deeper understanding of the extent to which there are common strands in law shared by the countries of Europe.

The website also contains supplementary reading materials and original language versions of non-English cases.
Ius Commune Europaeum Books
A book series focusing on the common foundations of EC member-state legal systems. The Europaeum series includes horizontal comparative legal studies and studies on the effect of treaties within national legal systems. All the classic fields of law are covered.
