The School of Health Professions Education (SHE) is a graduate school for research, education and innovation in health professions education. Since its inception, the vision and mission of SHE has been clear. We consistently focus on having a global impact on healthcare through research and translating this into education. Introducing our new Scientific Director

 

As of 1 July 2025, Professor Anique de Bruin will take on the role of Scientific Director of the School of Health Professions Education (SHE). She will succeed Professor Pim Teunissen, who will step down due to his appointment as Vice Dean, effective 1 June 2025.

Looking back at the MHPE on-campus period

Spring is always a joyful time at SHE. Not only because of the beautiful flowers and sunny days, but also because we welcome our MHPE students to Maastricht. This year, we were delighted to welcome 32 first-year and 22 second-year students from around the world.

Vici grant for Maastricht researcher Anique de Bruin

Professor Anique de Bruin has received a Vici grant of €1.5 million from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). De Bruin is receiving the grant for research into students' self-regulatory learning abilities.

Kazem Banihashem – educational technologist and lecturer in AI in education

Kazem recently joined SHE as a researcher on AI in education and a lecturer within the MHPE programme. He also works as an AI in education trainer for Educational Development & Research.
