Our team

Our Diversity Equity Inclusivity+ Office (DEI+) team works to foster a more equitable and inclusive UM community.

In addition to our team members listed below, the Advisory Council advises the DEI+ Office on policy matters. The council is chaired by the president and includes UM staff and students, as well as external members not employed by UM.

Margriet Schreuders | DEI+ Director | She/Her

Margriet has been director of DEI+ since January 2026. She leads Maastricht University’s work to build a safe learning and working environment where everyone feels welcome. She advises the Executive Board and works closely with faculties, service centres, staff and student organisations, social organisations and (educational) institutions to promote fairness, access, inclusion and representation in education, research and everyday university life.
