At FHML, you can choose from five bachelor’s programmes and twelve master’s programmes that prepare you for a future in healthcare. Problem-Based Learning is at the heart of our programmes. This approach to education allows you to learn in an interactive and small-group setting. Together with your fellow students, you form small groups and work on realistic, real-world problems. You collaborate actively, exchange ideas and approach issues from different perspectives.
Problem-Based Learning ensures that you gain more than just knowledge. Medicine
The Medicine programme is centred around authentic professional tasks and focuses on collaborative and self-regulation of learning. Knowledge, skills and attitude are taught using real world tasks from physicians. You practice on each other and simulated patients.
Regenerative Medicine and Technology
Combine science and engineering and apply it in medical applications. This programme teaches you to develop methods that trigger the body to repair or renew itself. You gain all the multidisciplinary knowledge and skills needed to design and market innovative solutions in healthcare.

Accreditations and recognitions
The Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO)
All bachelor's and master's programmes at Maastricht University have been approved by the NVAO (the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation). This organisation determines whether higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders is of good quality by checking the learning objectives, the learning environment, the method of assessment and the final level of the programmes.
Association for Epidemiology (VvE)
The Association for Epidemiology (VvE) accredits epidemiology programmes. This accreditation ensures that programmes meet strict content requirements in the areas of theory, research methodology, and statistics. The master's programme Epidemiology meets the Epi-A registration requirements as established by the VvE.
International Union for Health Promotion and Education
The master's programme Health Promotion received the European Health Promotion Accreditation from the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE). This accreditation system recognises the unique set of competencies exercised by the health promotion workforce.
