EdLab Innovation Grant 2025: AI Tutor for Formative Learning of Mathematics Preliminaries Using Conversational Agents. The project will focus on developing a 24-7 individualised tool that will help students from diverse backgrounds develop their mathematics preliminaries. The project aims to create a shorter feedback loop to the educator. The tool is available to students freely and will aid in their self-directed learning. In addition, the tool will summarise the common mistakes and misunderstandings of the cohort in an efficient and concise manner to the teaching staff. This allows the teaching staff to take action and implement changes that will support the needs of the specific cohort of students they are currently teaching. The exploitation of recent advancements in LLMs allows for this personalised and targeted improvement to be done in a scalable and low-cost manner.
