The Mental Health and Neuroscience Research Institute (MHeNs) strives to advance our understanding of brain-behaviour relationships by using an approach integrating various disciplines in neuro- and behavioural science, medicine, and the life sciences.

MINDS

Two research lines, Neuropsychology & Psychopharmacology. Investigations into the influence of a variety of factors on healthy development, aging, & congenital & acquired brain damage & also on the neurochemical basis of various behavioural functions.

Research into diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders

Contributes to excellence in health maintenance and personalised medicine by unravelling lifestyle and disease induced derangements in metabolism and by developing targeted nutritional, exercise, and drug interventions.

Focus on the acquisition & relative value of human capital over a given lifetime in relation to the dynamics of the labour market.

The Sensor Engineering department focuses on the development of innovative sensing applications. The research facilities of the department are located on the Brightlands Chemelot Campus.

The School of Health Professions Education (SHE), part of Maastricht University, is a graduate school for education and excellent research leading to innovation in health professions education.
