Maastricht University placed #201-250 out of 1000 universities worldwide in the 2018 Times Higher Education Computer Science subject ranking

The European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) together with the Maastricht University invites political and social representatives, students and European citizens to discuss the future of Europe.

The Ministry of the Interior has written a response to the report ‘Cross-border workers in Europe’ (Grenswerkers in Europa) in a Letter to Parliament. Furthermore the minister addresses the progress of cross-border cooperation.

The migration and citizenship section of the American Political Science Association (APSA) has awarded the ‘2016 Best Chapter Award’ to a book chapter by Floris Peters and Maarten Vink. 

Aline Sierp, together with colleagues from the University of Siena, Sibiu and Krakow, has won a Europe for Citizen Grant funded by the European Commission.

On 12 July 2017 the defence of PhD Thesis of Dr Hannelore Niesten (joint doctorate UHasselt/UM) took place. The joint doctorate of Dr Hannelore Niesten was carried out under supervisors Prof. Dr. Elly Van de Velde (UHasselt) and Dr. Marjon Weerepas (Maastricht University). The University of Hasselt pubslished an article about the PhD thesis regarding the tax barriers of free movement of persons in the EU.

The Research Master Cultures of Arts, Science and Technology (CAST) was accredited and received an exceptional score of ‘good’.

On 17 and 18 March 2017, the MACCH annual conference ‘Participatory Practices in Arts and Heritage’ took place in Maastricht. The event was attended by an international group of researchers and professionals from a diverse set of backgrounds, including academics, policy makers, legal and museum professionals.
