Prof. Bruno De Witte has published an article entitled 'Euro Crisis Responses and the EU Legal Order: Increased Institutional Variation or Constitutional Mutation?' in the latest issue of the European Constitutional Law Review (11:3, pp.434-457).

The Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies celebrated its very first lustrum on the 20th of November 2015. This lustrum conference was organized in cooperation with DVDW Advocaten, one of ICGI’s partner law firms and supported by the Universiteitsfonds Limburg/SWOL.

The research presented in the thesis concerns the use of nutritional science in the implementation of the European Nutrition and Health Claim Regulation as well as either the positive or negative effects resulting from combining the use of foods and pharmaceuticals. 

After the recent successful outcome of the National Student Enquiry (NSE) and the Elsevier Best Study Programmes, our bachelor programmes Tax Law and European Law School are in first place in the Keuzegids Hoger Onderwijs.

On 16 September 2015, the European Public Law Organization in Athens awarded Dr. Tanja Ehnert a Special Distinction for her PhD dissertation entitled "Regulating the Invisible: A Critical Analysis of the EU's Approach to Nanotechnologies".

On 1 October 2015 Bastiaan Kemp, former PhD-fellow at the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies (ICGI), was appointed Assistant Professor of Company Law at our faculty (department Private Law) and as Research Fellow at ICGI.

PhD candidate Samantha Renssen will defend her dissertation “Turbo-liquidation of the Close Corporation” on Wednesday 18 November, 16.00 hrs. The event will be held at the Aula of Maastricht University, Minderbroedersberg 4-6. 

This Annual Report highlights the main activities of the Centre that were undertaken in the year 2014.

A workshop on tax rulings was held for the Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures in Nature or Effect, with the participation of academics and experts in the field.
