Why are some teams able to adaptively respond to unexpected events while others fall apart?

I use a combination of laboratory and field research to investigate factors that contribute to team learning and adaptation. Thereby I investigate concepts, such as development and change in routines, communication patterns, cognitive structures, and adaptive leadership. My research can be characterized as behavioural and longitudinal. I primarily apply behavioural observation methods to study teams (e.g. capturing video-recordings or using logged behavioural data) and make use of repeated observations in order to investigate how teams develop and change over time.

In addition, I collaborate with colleagues on projects on well-being at work (recovery, rumination), and on the acceptance of people with a disablity at work.
