Taking photos or videos at UM SPORTS
We value the privacy of our members, so if you would like to take photos or videos at the University Sports Centre (USC) or any other UM SPORTS location, you need to get prior approval.
How to submit a request
To submit a request for taking photos/videos, send an email to umsports@maastrichtuniversity.nl that includes the following:
- a plan/script/subject for the photos/videos
- when you want to take the photos/videos
- who is being photographed/filmed
- where you want to take photos/videos
- what you plan to do with the photos/videos
- what platforms the photos/videos will be published on
This request will be sent to the communications officer and the UM SPORTS facilities department to be approved. Only a communications officer or the facilities department can approve a request.
After a request is approved
On the day of photographing/filming, report to the front desk first. If they have any doubts, the front desk will call the communications officer or someone from the facilities department. After that, if necessary, the front desk will give you guest passes for the photographers or film crew so they can come in through the USC gates.
The photographers or film crew must always ask permission and, where possible, get signed consent from all individuals who appear in the photos/videos. Consent forms can be requested at the front desk.
The photos/videos must always be shown to the UM SPORTS communications officer for approval before publication.
Taking selfies and videos for social media
If you would like to take selfies or film yourself to post on social media, you are welcome to do so. However, please make sure no other members are in the background or get their express consent before posting. If you are taking photos/videos at one of our locations, our staff may approach you just to ensure that everyone’s privacy is being respected.
