“I am very interested in the overarching structure of the European Union and all the benefits it brings to people.
"I chose this particular programme because it is very interdisciplinary and looks at Europe and the European Union from many different angles. Besides this, it is English-taught and I was very interested in Problem-Based Learning as I love to be actively engaged in debating and conducting research.
In the third year you can do a five-month internship to gain practical experience. I think that is a wonderful opportunity to prepare yourself for your career. Currently, I am doing my internship at the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht, providing me with very useful contacts for my next steps.
My goal is to do a master’s in Development Studies, in order to gain field work experience to understand the impact of policies. Afterwards, a traineeship at the European Parliament will teach me the ropes. Ultimately I want to work for the EU or an EU-related organisation on the policy side.”
