Om na te gaan of er al factoren zijn die in de eerste levensjaren van de kinderen of misschien zelfs al tijdens de zwangerschap een rol spelen bij het ontstaan van aandoeningen, zoals luchtwegklachten, volgen we de kinderen vanaf geboorte. Aan de LucKi Studie doen inmiddels al … op het lichaam van kinderen. De samenstelling van de darmflora is verschillend van persoon tot persoon, maar waardoor dit komt is nog grotendeels onbekend. Duidelijk is wel dat de basis voor deze verschillen al in het vroege leven ligt. Het vermoeden bestaat dat de darmflora van de moeder hierbij een belangrijke rol speelt.
