Master Thesis

The Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management is recognised for its high quality theses and professional supervision by qualified staff members. To get started with your thesis, you have to participate in the skills “Skill MA thesis: IB–Marketing/SCM”.

Timeline of the thesis progress:

  • 1. Thesis Info Session
A couple of weeks before the skill period, an information session is given on how to find a topic, start developing the idea, structure the thesis, etc. Please make sure to attend the meeting.

  • 2. Select Thesis Topic
Around the time of the thesis info session, supervisors from the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management post new thesis topics.

  • 3. Submit Problem Statement
In the week before the skill, you need to submit a problem statement (details on the requirements can be found in the coursebook of the thesis skill). This problem statement can be derived from a posted research topic or it can be your own idea. Based on this proposal, you will be assigned to a tutor, probably your future supervisor, for the skill.

  • 4. Skills Period ("Skills MA thesis: IB-Marketing/SCM")
During the skill period, you will develop the problem statement to a final proposal which will be evaluated by your tutor. If the final proposal is evaluated as sufficient, you will be assigned to a supervisor with whom you need to make further arrangements. This implies that you will only be assigned to a thesis supervisor when you pass the thesis skill. You can count on this supervision for a period of six months.

  • 5. Submit final proposal
Write thesis (deadline: end of semester).

Details can be found in the course book of the thesis skills which will be made available upon registering for this course.
