In the staging of existing works, commissioning of new works, and in planning for their futures, cooperation between contemporary artists and collecting institutions has become key. Contemporary artistic practices have prompted a reconsideration of boundaries between the roles of artists and institutional staff, and between processes of art production, exhibition, and preservation.

Maastricht Entrepreneurship Week (MEWeek) is the largest entrepreneurship event organized entirely by students for students in the Netherlands. With over 500 participants and an impressive line-up of speakers, MEWeek’17 has one mission – to empower individuals from all fields and backgrounds to become conscious catalysts and mobilize the world towards positive change as entrepreneurs.

The seminar will feature presentations of two new Assistant Professors of European Law, Diane Fromage and Natassa Athanasiadou.

From 18 to 23 April 2017, different student organisations at Maastricht University will be participating in a university-wide Sustainability Week. The week is centred days around International Earth Day (April 21st) and it is organised by Maastricht University’s Green Office, a student-run organisation that helps the university transition towards a greener campus.

On 22 April 2017, Earth Day, people all over the world will participate in hundreds of ‘Marches for Science’ to demonstrate their passion for science and sound the call to support and safeguard the scientific community.

byteMAL (Bioinformatics for Young inTernational researchers) is a conference for young researchers in the fields of bioinformatics and computational biology and aims to provide a new networking platform for knowledge and expertise exchange across borders.

This Roundtable on May 12th 2017 will address recent developments and new perspectives on the codification of private law from a comparative law viewpoint. Scholars from six jurisdictions from Europe will share their insights on the main alterations and challenges that the codification phenomenon has experienced since the beginning of the twenty-first century. Speakers from continental European, common law, and mixed jurisdictions will meet to assess the virtues and weaknesses of the codification phenomenon, thus offering a forum to discuss the status of a paradigm that spread across part of the Western world.

This conference is a joint initiative of the Amsterdam Centre of European Law and Governance (UvA), and the Maastricht Centre for Gender and Diversity UM).
