Maarten Vink addresses Committee of the Regions of the EU

On 23 September 2016 professor Maarten Vink, Co-Director of the Maastricht Center for Citizenship, Migration and Development (MACIMIDE) and a member of the ITEM Academic Office, addressed the Committee of the Regions of the European Union during the 10th Meeting of the Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX) in Oviedo, Spain. Vink talked about the importance of enhancing awareness of Union citizenship rights and discussed some practical obstacles towards the exercise of electoral rights at local levels.

After his talk Vink was interviewed by regional newspapers La Nueva España and El Comercio, which published the interviews in their editions of Saturday 24 September 2016.
