Jacques Michel Bloi joins ITEM as external relations advisor
Candidate for the European elections, Jacques Michel Bloi has started as external relations advisor at the ITEM Expertise Centre at Maastricht University. Jacques Michel Bloi will work as a representative of ITEM to form a link between science, politics and policy. The main focus will be on the German contacts.
Jacques Michel Bloi has started as an external relations advisor at the ITEM Expertise Centre on 1 April. Prior to this, he worked as a policy and communication employee at the Statenfractie of the VVD in Limburg. Next to this, Jacques Michel Bloi also worked as a management consultant at the Municipality of Roermond and now works as an advisor at the consultancy firm ERAC Impact in Den Bosch.
Starting this month, Jacques Michel Bloi will work as external relations advisor as a representative of the ITEM Expertise Centre in order to form a link between science, politics and policy. The aim of this is to disseminate ITEM's substantive knowledge in the field of cross-border mobility and cooperation towards national, European and international politics.
About ITEM
The expertise centre ITEM operates at the convergence of research, counselling, knowledge exchange, and training activities in the domain of cross-border mobility and cooperation. The countries of the European Union are confronted with great challenges following the increasing globalisation of the economy and the internationalisation of the current and future society. ITEM is an interdisciplinary institute which was initiated by Maastricht University (UM) in cooperation with Zuyd Hogeschool, NEIMED, the (Dutch) province of Limburg, the city of Maastricht and the Meuse-Rhine Euregion.

Paula Roldán Barraza will join METRO as a PhD researcher. She will be based both at SBE and at LAW and will be supervised by Iwan Bos (SBE), Niels Philipsen (METRO) and Kalpana Tyagi (IGIR).
