Inkom 2017 has started
Today, 2,900 students from Maastricht University and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences started their introduction week in Maastricht. “This is a record in the INKOM-history, we are sold out now”, says INKOM-chair Sean Beukers.The theme of this year's INKOM is 'Legends of Tomorrow’. From Monday 22 August to Friday 25 August, the students will have the opportunity to get to know each other and the city of Maastricht. The official opening starts tonight at 7pm on the market square with performances by DJ Ludocroz, the Shakin’DJ’s from Limburg, coverband the Daredevils and artiest Freddy Moreira.
Informative, cultural, athletic and social events
On Tuesday 22 August, the Griend will be transformed into a festival grounds with various acts, activities, food and drink stands, and places to dance, relax and get a taste of Maastricht student life. This is the perfect opportunity for student organisations to introduce themselves and their activities to a new batch of students.
One of this year's highlights is CultiFest: A Taste of Culture. This festival will be held on Wednesday 23 August starting at 6.00pm in the Bonnefantenmusem. During the event, the museum will be transformed into a cultural playground. Outside, there wil be a stage with performances. Inside, all kind of acts and activities. There will also be food trucks serving up delicious meals.
Friday is all about the Beach Lounge, a lounge area designed by Fun Valley where students can enjoy sun, water and music. Thrill-seekers can opt for paintball, laser tag or climbing activities. The week will end with the Bavaria Night in the MECC with performances by Boris Smith Dubbel Fout, Brookes and world’s number 32 DJ duo Bassjackers
