Madhumitha Balaji (M.)

Madhumitha’s PhD research involves understanding the determinants of suicide attempts in young people in India. She is supported by DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance. 

Madhumitha completed her MA in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai, India (2004) and went on to do her MSc in in Mental Health Services Research from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London (2007). Over the last 10 years, she has worked on research projects that have involved developing and evaluating complex health care interventions for mental health conditions in India. Her research interests include qualitative research, adolescent and youth mental health, and suicide.
