Laurie Delnoij (L.E.C.)

Dr. Laurie Delnoij is an Assistant Professor and assessment specialist at the Department of Educational Research and Development at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.

Her research focuses on how people learn, are assessed, and develop within higher education and workplace settings. She examines how different forms of assessment, feedback, and evaluation influence learning and performance, and how professionals and teams operate in complex environments. Her work explores judgment and decision-making, the role of context, and how educational and training programs can be designed to genuinely support sustainable development. She collaborates closely with PhD candidates and national and international partners.

Alongside her research, Laurie supports educational professionals through workshops, training, and consultancy on assessment, evaluation, and feedback. She works with teachers and organizations to strengthen assessment practices and make evidence-informed design and implementation decisions. She also serves as chair of her faculty’s assessment committee and was the coordinator of the Special Interest Group on Assessment and Evaluation within EARLI from 2019–2025.

Within the School of Business and Economics, Laurie contributes to teaching as a course coordinator, supervisor, and coach in the award-winning master’s programme Learning and Development in Organisations, skill-development for bachelor students in International Business and executive education.
