Laurie Delnoij (L.E.C.)

Laurie has broad experience in higher education and has held various roles, including tutor, mentor, academic advisor, thesis supervisor, lecturer, and coach. She has taught a wide range of courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, and executive-education levels, in both applied sciences (hbo) and research university (wo) contexts. Her teaching primarily focuses on topics within the social sciences, such as psychology, pedagogy, learning & development, and professional skills. Laurie obtained her Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) in 2021 and has since completed several advanced trainings and courses to further strengthen her teaching expertise.

She is currently active in the master’s program Learning & Development in Organisations as course coordinator, thesis supervisor, and coach. She guides students on theses and projects that align with her research expertise and coordinates a project-based course in which students work as L&D consultants on real-world organizational challenges. Additionally, she supports bachelor students in developing their skills and delivers workshops and training sessions within executive-education programs.

Education projects

Some of the projects Laurie is involved in have a strong focus on practical application and educational innovation. These projects aim to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world teaching and learning practice, both within the School of Business and Economics and in collaboration with external organizations.

One example is a project in which she explores how a structured portfolio system and interactive digital tools can support students in the thesis process. This enhances self-directed learning and academic writing, while providing instructors with practical ways to guide and monitor student progress.
