Guido Bellenghi (G.)
Guido Bellenghi is a PhD researcher at the Law Faculty of Maastricht University. His research project, titled 'The Rise of EU Emergency Law', investigates the emergency powers of EU institutions across EU primary and secondary law.
Guido is a scientific expert in the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on Crises and Emergencies in EU Integration (EmergEU). He is also a member and part of the managing team of the Maastricht Centre for European Law (MCEL), and a member of the Belgian Association for European Law (BEDER) and the Centre for International Research on Law, Culture and Power (Nomos).

Career history
Guido Bellenghi (1998) holds a Bachelor and Master's Degree in Law from LUISS University, Rome (summa cum laude, 2021) and an LL.M. in European Law from Maastricht University (summa cum laude, 2022). He also studied law at the London School of Economics (2018), Leiden University (2020), and the European University Institute (2021).
Before starting his PhD, Guido was teaching assistant in EU law at LUISS University (2021-2022) and lecturer in EU and international law at Maastricht University (2022-2023).
In 2023, he co-authored a study requested by the European Parliament. In 2025, he was awarded the Young FIDE Award for best speakers at the 2025 FIDE Congress. In 2026, Guido was a visiting PhD student at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (Luxembourg) and the European University Institute (Florence).
