"Antithrombotic therapy, platelet reactivity and post-operative myocardial injury"
This thesis explores the role of platelets, thrombosis, and antithrombotic therapies in different patient groups. It focuses on four key areas: 1) the effectiveness of a new point-of-care device (T-TAS) for assessing current antiplatelet treatments in patients with stable coronary artery disease, 2) the use of a novel subcutaneous drug for preventing heart attacks in patients before hospital admission, 3) the relationship between inflammation and heart injury following surgery, and 4) the comparison of two blood thinners (Xa inhibitors and IIa inhibitors) in patients with atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease. Through this research, new insights are provided into better methods for managing blood clotting and inflammation, particularly in high-risk patients.
