"The real value of data: A matter of fusion and defusion"
Data is the new oil. Indeed, many businesses are gathering more and more data to support the decision making for different purposes. However, in many companies those data are collected by different units and are stored in different information systems. They are kept in isolated siloes. This prevents unlocking the full potential of the data, as the real value is in their combination. Data fusion is the answer. It can help combine them to find hidden patterns and knowledge. However, the fused data, decisions need to be specialized and contextualized. In this talk, I will discuss the role of fusion and diffusion in discovering the real value of data.
