I am an Assistant Professor in the Human Movement Science research group of the Department of Nutrition and Movement Sciences at Maastricht University, The Netherlands. 

I aim to improve the assessment and intervention of fall risk in older people using task-specific approaches closely mimicking common causes of falls. By combining biomechanical, motor learning and neuroscientific methods, translational research that leads to better understanding and application of these task-specific approaches in at-risk populations is possible. Critical to this vision is the application of findings on the underlying control of balance and walking to clinically feasible assessment and intervention approaches.
