Vinzenz Peters (V.)
I'm a PhD candidate in Economics at the Department of Macro, International & Labour Economics (MILE) at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University in the Netherlands. My supervisors are Mark Sanders and Stefan Straetmans.
In my PhD project, I address the question of how financial systems, and specifically banking, can be instrumental in promoting sustainable and resilient economic development in the face of the climate crisis. In this context, I interpret resilience as an economy's ability to endure upheavals stemming from climate-induced shocks and climate policy-induced transition.
My broader research interests involve:
Economics of climate change, environmental economics, economic effects of natural hazards, economic resilience, sustainable development, banks and the real economy, financial intermediation, cooperatives, political economy.
