Timo Clemens (T.)
Timo is a public health researcher and teacher. His focus of work is on European perspectives on the organisation and governance of health systems – understanding the process and effects of EU law, EU collaboration and integration in domestic health policy making. Methodologically, this involved comparative and vertical (top-down) analyses of laws and policies that have been supplemented by literature reviews, surveys and qualitative interview studies to assess the effects in practice. The thematic interests have been on cross-border care arrangements, rare diseases, health data and patients’ rights/patient information. His experience includes involvement in EU funded research projects and research collaborations with various partners from practice.
His teaching at Bachelor and Master level involves health governance, European Public Health, health policy and law, trainings on qualitative interviews and document analysis as well as the coordination of an internal (20) and external network (50) of placement hosts.
