S.E. Pishva

Ehsan Pishva MD, PhD is an assistant professor in integrated genomics of neurodegenerative disorders at the department of psychiatry and neuropsychology, Maastricht University, and an honorary lecturer at the University of Exeter Medical School, UK.  In 2019, he was awarded a three-year "Memorabel" fellowship (ZonMW) to generate multi-omics data in AD post-mortem brain samples and to integrate the data using advanced analytical approaches.

Career history

Ehsan received his M.D. degree in 2007 in Iran and his PhD degree in neuroscience in 2015 at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. The focus of his PhD was on classical gene-environment interaction studies, advanced statistical analyses and epigenomic analysis of depression and stress related disorders. In 2016, he joined the “Complex Disease Epigenetics Group” in Exeter to start his 3-year post-doc funded in part by the MRC and JPND as part of the European EPI-AD project investigating epigenetic dysregulation in the brainstem in AD (www.EPI-AD.eu).
