Roberto Cruz Martinez, Ph.D. (R.R.)

I work as scientific information specialist for the University Library. I mainly support the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS). I also work as coordinator for Information Literacy education, supporting other colleagues who teach this subject.

Expertises

I began my career in academia as a scientific researcher, but have by now shifted to focus on the librarian supporting role. In this position I have accumulated experience in a wide variety of topics: theory on information literacy; the effective use of search tools and databases with scientific information; Open Access and Open Science practices and policies; and my specialty: the scientific method of systematic literature reviews.

Career history

I am a trained psychologist, specialised in the areas of human performance, health, and well-being. I obtained my PhD degree at the University of Twente. My research focused on how digital technologies can support the self-care behaviours of individuals with cardiovascular conditions. I have two master degrees, one in health psychology & technology at the University of Twente, and another in sport psychology at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), in Mexico. At the UANL I also obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology with a specialisation in social psychology.
