International Law Discussion Group

The central objective of the International Law Discussion Group (ILDG) is to provide an intellectual community for researchers of international law, both in Maastricht and beyond. Members of ILDG work on a broad range of international law subjects, including international legal theory, international criminal law, and human rights.

ILDG has a close relationship with the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights (MCfHR) and the Critical Approaches to International Law (CAIL) Study Group. ILDG regularly organises seminars and lecture series, both in Maastricht and online.

Seminars during term time focus on recent developments in international law, such as the decisions of international judicial bodies and ongoing debates in the field. These regular meetings also provide a forum for researchers to present and receive feedback on their work. In addition to these meetings, ILDG organises lecture series and workshops with external participants.
