MaCSBio Science Day 2017

The second MaCSBio Science Day was organized on Friday, June 9th 2017.

The theme of the meeting was ‘Extending Networks’ and was focused on fostering and expanding our collaborations at Maastricht University and beyond.

Report

It is 09:30 in the morning when the first guests are coming in. In no time the small Banditos-café at Oxfordlaan 55 is filled. Registration is going along smoothly while the final preparations are being made in the Jo Ritzenzaal.

Peer groups
During the MaCSBio Science Day we organize meetings of three of our existing Peer Groups. These Peer Groups allow researchers who are working with similar methods or on closely related topics to meet and discuss common challenges in an informal setting.

Peer Groups

These Peer Groups allow researchers who are working with similar methods or on closely related topics to meet and discuss common challenges in an informal setting. Although the MaCSBio Science Day 2017 has already past, the Peer groups are still active and you can still subscribe.

Do you face (methodological) challenges in your research that you cannot solve on your own? Want to experience what a peer group is? Sign up for the MaCSBio Peer Groups.

The MaCSBio Science Day hosted the following three peer groups:

  • RNA-seq data analysis
Focuses on the problems faced in the processing, analysis and other technical aspects of RNA-sequencing data.

  • Network biology
Allows participants to introduce and discuss new or existing tools and applications for network visualization and analysis in the study of biology and medicine.

  • Computational models and complex systems in neuroscience
Focuses on problems and solutions in computational neuroscience and shapes future directions for computational models and complex systems in neuroscience.
