Ergonomics is the science that focuses on matching tools and conditions to human characteristics that allow people to function optimally. This covers the whole field from, for example, a good office chair to an efficient work process in laboratories. Ergonomics thus makes an important contribution to the design of a workplace and work processes in order to work safely and healthy.
