Workshop Approaches to Arts, Conservation and Cultural Heritage
The aim of this workshop was to further discuss parallel and intersecting areas of research and common grounds in the research that is currently conducted in this field. Over 20 participants presented their research in domains ranging from conservation of monuments, contemporary art, home videos, to language cultures, and nature sites.
Whose Culture is it? On cultures of authenticity and ownership in art and cultural heritage
On the 23rd and 24th of March 2014, convened towards the end of The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) the conference ‘Whose Culture is it? On cultures of authenticity and ownership in art and cultural heritage’ took place in Maastricht. Organized by the Faculties of Law, Arts and Social Sciences, the University College, and the School of Business and Economics, the purpose of this conference was to explore the diversity of cultures of authenticity and ownership in the fields of art and cultural heritage, today.

Law and Art Session at Ius Commune Conference
/At the end of November, members of MACCH from the Faculty of Law returned to Maastricht after a day of insightful discussions and presentations on art and law in Leuven. The 20th Anniversary Ius Commune Congress featured a workshop on art and law organised by Prof. Dr. Hildegard Schneider, Dean of the Maastricht Faculty of Law and Prof. Bert Demarsin, Campus Dean of the Brussels Campus of KU Leuven. The day ended with a presentation on a new Maastricht Art & Law venture.
