Students from the bachelor’s program Dutch Law need to follow mandatory courses in the fifth semester, but are free to follow one of the following minors (partially) extracurricular. Check the Education and Examination regulations for more information about how many ECTS can count towards graduation.

 Please note: the application process for the academic year 2025-2026 takes place from 1 June 2025 up and until 30 June 2025 23.59 hours CET. 

 Please keep in mind that some minors have a limited number of available places.

How to apply for a minor:

  • You should apply via the Special Course Request procedure via the Student Portal. Please choose all courses of the minor you want to participate in or mention the name of the Minor programme you opt for in a note.
  • Your request will first be assessed by your own faculty. After approval the request will be forwarded to the offering faculty who assesses if you can be registered (is there still place, do you meet entrance requirements etc.).
  • After approval you will receive further information on the registration procedure.

  • You should apply via the Special Course Request procedure via the Student Portal. Please choose all courses of the minor you want to participate in.
  • Please make sure to mention the specific minor for which you are filing the Special Course Request. You can do this in the text/justification field.
  • Your request will first be assessed by your own faculty. After approval the request will be forwarded to the offering faculty who assesses if you can be registered (is there still place, do you meet entrance requirements etc.).

  • Students must ask the Board of Examiners (Department of Advanced Computing Sciences) permission to follow a minor. Submit your list of grades and a motivation via this online form before 1 April.
  • Next, apply via the Special Course Request procedure in the Student Portal. Please choose all courses of the minor or mention the name of the minor programme you opt for in a note.
  • Your request will first be assessed by your own faculty. After approval the request will be forwarded to the offering faculty who assesses if you can be registered (is there still place, do you meet entrance requirements etc.).
  • After approval you will receive further information on the registration procedure.
