Julian’s research focuses on the relationship between society and environmental regulation.

Julian’s research focuses on the relationship between society and environmental regulation. Furthermore, he also investigates the interdependencies between low carbon transition and innovation policy.
He received an undergraduate degree in law before completing postgraduate studies in economics (Diplomvolkswirt) at the University of Hamburg.
Previously, Julian was involved in a research project on sustainable resource management and socio-economic development as a research assistant at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. He also spent time working as a short term consultant for the World Bank Environment Department in the context of the ‘Environment Strategy 2010 Consultations’.
