Bachelor Digital Society gets green light
Maastricht University received official confirmation from the NVAO (Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatie organisatie) that the new bachelor's programma Digital Society meets all of the standards expected of a new programme.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences will start this new programme with welcoming students in September 2019. In the NVAO report, the panel commended the course team and the Faculty for this ‘timely initiative, answering to a clear societal need, versed in a proposal of high quality’. In the report (received earlier in May), the panel states:
‘The panel was impressed by the way in which the vision of the Bachelor Digital Society was elaborated in the intended learning outcomes and the profile of the programme. The panel applauds that the profile and vision ‘spot on’ cover problems in our current digital society. The new programme is well embedded in proper ownership in the faculty and it is developed by a passionate core team of experts. Because of their expertise and passion, the core team has the potential to become internationally leading in this field.’
The core team was supported by many colleagues within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
