Our method

How do we work?

We offer our services in various collaboration formats, tailored to your context and needs. Formats range from short face-to-face workshops in Maastricht or at your institute, to blended courses and multiple year comprehensive projects. Contact us for detailed information on our scope, fees and methods.

Internationally, SHE Collaborates is creating impact through numerous consultancy and development projects, including faculty development and support in Problem-Based Learning (PBL) implementation and curriculum design. SHE Collaborates engages in long-term educational development projects based on requests from (educational) institutes abroad. For a successful collaboration, it is pivotal to learn about specific needs, wishes and interests of our partners, and to understand the local context.

Examples

Introduction student-centred learning

This workshop combines innovative research and technologies with diverse, interdisciplinary expertise to
tackle future healthcare challenges. Student-centred education is central, aiming to cultivate patient-focused healthcare professionals. An example of this is Problem Based Learning (PBL). Anyone that is interested in transitioning or improving their educational approach from a teacher-centered model to one that prioritizes student engagement, particulary through methodologies like PBL, can benefit from this programme. This workshop can be in a 1, 2 or 3-day session.

Enabling learning

The rationale of our Enabling Learning programme is that teachers (trainers, educators, or facilitators) have the responsibility of helping others acquire knowledge and skills that they will apply in their professional lives. Being a good teacher - facilitating other people to learn - is a skill that one can learn. These courses are especially relevant for clinicians, health care providers and academic staff engaged in student education and training. This programme is offered in a short course or blended format or as part of a project collaboration.

As an example, the blended course provides a combination of face-to-face sessions conducive to experiential learning, complemented by online education, and supported by the facilitation of the practical application of knowledge within your own context. The course commences with a 3-day face-to-face session and concludes with another 3-day face-to-face session, culminating in a graduation ceremony.

Throughout the programme, participants engage in distance learning at their own pace. The total duration of the course spans from 6 to 9 months.
