Valedictory lecture Prof. dr. Geertjan Wesseling
Professor in Lung diseases, specifically in Management of Chronic Obstructive Lung diseases
"Alles?"
Geertjan Wesseling worked in hospitals for more than 40 years, over 36 of which were spent in Maastricht. Apart from his clinical work, he was active in clinical teaching and in a number of administrative positions. In his farewell lecture he will look back on the many achievements and developments with admiration and amazement, on what puzzled him and what kept him going. Progress has been spectacular in many areas, including diagnostic options, pharmacotherapy e.g. for lung cancer and for cystic fibrosis and in the ICT in healthcare. He will go through all of that and he will project lessons learned on what he foresees for the future. Furthermore, he will thank everyone whom he worked with, who supported him and who fascinated him.
