UM Agora on Rethinking Innocence in Intercountry Adoption

UM AGORA is an outreach initiative of Maastricht University staff working in the field of gender and diversity studies, who want to exchange ideas with the local community. It is coordinated by the Centre for  Gender and Diversity of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This is the second of a series of bilingual soirées running from November 2019 to November 2020.

Intercountry adoption used to have the humanitarian aura of saving children from the developing regions in this world. But is the practice really this innocent? Lies Wesseling (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and Elvira Loibl (Faculty of Law) will tackle this issue from historical and criminological perspectives. The discussion will be moderated by André Klip (Faculty of Law).

Attendance to the Soirée is free but please register by e-mail before 8 February 2020.
