Nora Vissers (N.M.)
Nora Vissers is a lecturer and PhD candidate at the Public Law Department at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law, specializing in constitutional law in the European Union and the Netherlands. Her PhD research focuses on the role of the European Union in safeguarding democracy within its Member States, examining if EU institutions can and should contribute to upholding core democratic standards though law. At the same time, her broader research also engages with the national dimension of democratic governance, particularly within the Dutch constitutional and electoral context.
Nora is also a fellow at the Montesquieu Institute where she actively contributes to the publications of the Hofvijver. These, and other publications can be found here.

Career history
Nora holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in European Law, as well as a bachelor's degree in European Studies, from Maastricht University.
Before joining the faculty in 2021, she worked as a Research Assistant at the European Institute of Public Administration, contributing to trainings on EU governance.
