  • Agreement with Elsevier extended until 2020

    In late 2018, when the ‘current’ contract with Elsevier ended, VSNU and Elsevier agreed to continue the talks on a new contract while the existing agreements were maintained. Now the current contract will be extended for an additional six months to allow more time for the negotiations.

  • Micah Vandegrift – a Fullbright in Maastricht

    Micah Vandegrift lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina. He visited Maastricht University Library as a Fulbright-Schuman innovation fellow and stayed with us for 5 months between October 2018 and February 2019. His wife and two young children accompanied him to Maastricht and beyond.

  • 30% rule gets transitional right after all

    In the Belastingplan 2019 (Dutch Tax Plan 2019) Amendment Memorandum, the State Secretary for Finance announced that the reduction of the 30% ruling from 8 to 5 years will be granted a transitional period after all. The new duration of the ruling depends on the current end date.

    Last Saturday, 13 October, we welcomed almost 3100 prospective students and their parents or guardians who wanted to find out more about Maastricht University. While mostly Dutch, our visitors had more than 56 different nationalities.
